HULU // The Path's Sneak Preview at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Los Angeles. There are a few things that are staples of things to experience while you are in LA and one of them is visiting the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Since 2002, Cinespia’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery has offered a really unique experience to watch movies (new and classics) under the stars and in the middle of a cemetery. You can bring blankets, food, wine...pretty much anything you would need or want to have a nice, relaxed night out with your friends.

When I found out that we had an opportunity to work that would land us at such a historical landmark of Los Angeles, I was really excited to share with my team the news that we would be working for Hulu's season finale screening of their hit-show, The Path, under the event production of the lovely Kate of Bespoke Boheme.

One of the things that I most appreciate about working events is being able to get an opportunity to experience moments that are really only available to those working behind-the-scenes. I probably cherish those moments the most because you can really understand how much work and time goes into an event, which I think, helps me appreciate and value each production even more. Also, there is something really special in being able to witness the creation and evolution of an event or party. Maybe it is the sense of feeling part of a community coming together to create or maybe it is the feeling of being able to be part of a production that will influence and become part of someone's memories...in either direction, I just love the behind-the-scenes moments that are as important as the actual event itself.

For this event specifically, my favorite memories from setting up was being able to see all the decor being staged in the general and VIP areas. It was pretty much Pinterest, but in real life. Super-sized tee-pees, table settings loaded with flowers, drinks and appetizers and every decor that created the dreamiest of bohemian lifestyle was hands down, visually phenomenal!

The cocktail hour prior to the screening was pretty busy for us. I had some custom crowns made ahead of time, as well as, some for the wait staff, as Kate wanted to create a hippie cult-vibe look to tie it in with the show.

When I found out we were going to work this event, I pretty much binge-watched the show while making flower crowns so that I could do my research and gain more understanding so that I can create crowns that were similar to the overall look from the show and would create consistency from the show to the screening.

We used a lot of color and wildflowers for this event. Bright oranges, purple sage, emile and daisies were just some to name a few. Creating crowns that are more earthy and wild is right up my alley, so it was a dream come true to make 80+ crowns that were this style for the event.

Once the event started, we were pretty much busy from start to finish, so we didn't get to see much, but loved seeing the photos that one of our guys was able to take of the event. Also, there were some great photos from Joe Scarnici of Getty Images of North America that were online (link of more photos below).

I really loved the bright and bold colors that we chose for this event. For anyone who loves colors that pop, I recommend using primary colors, such as red, orange and yellows and using balancing tones from the blues, greens and purples to create a fun, playful look.

Special thanks to Kate from Bespoke Boheme for producing such a well-curated event on such a grand scale and of course, I am always thankful for my team who help make events like this possible (both my Hulu team and Calamigos Ranch team who held down the fort at another event we had that night). Shout out to Leyna for all that you do :)
